As many times as I have searched the 1870 census, Wake Co NC to see if
Delilah (Dilly) Strickland Chamblee, second wife of John Chamblee (son of old
RObert Chamblee), I inever could find it.
FINALLY, in general browsing the census I see the census taker didn't listen
too well to the word CHAMBLEE:
1870 Wake Co, Forrestville PO, LIttle River TS, Aug 10
171/171
Dilla CHANDLER 55 Keeping house 1800/500 [census taker prob mean 65]
Robert 32 farmer (Robert Melville Chamblee marr Annie E. Whitley in 1882)
Hellen 20 at home (Helen Wiley Chamblee marr Edward Mosely in 1886)
Martha 24 at home (Martha Lane Chamblee marr Patrick McLaughlin in
1863--perhaps someone near the CIvil War roster books could check to see if
he enlisted and died there)
Sidney 21 attending school (Sidney Columbus Chamblee marr Sarah Ella Hopkins
in 1874, his photo is on the site as well as a photo of a family gathering
outside the old homestead)

This is non-other than Dilly Chamblee with her children whom I know so well.
Dilly wasn't traveling, she was mispelled.
