Cousins,
Besides private e-mail and this list, I urge you to also discuss your
Chamblee-Chamlee genealogy at
genforum.com where the queries are threaded.
Then, some of the many topics discussed over the years can be reviewed by
newcomers and we won't have to repeat ourselves. You can also correct and/or
update on your direct lines and search by phrases, words, etc.
If you are short of time like me, then you can have genforum e-mail you when
someone is replying to any of your queries or comments on that forum. All you
do is put in your e-mail address at the top line that say:
"Subscribe to reply notification updates or learn more"
QUERY TIPS:
1. Make sure the subject line reflects your ancestors.
2. Inquire for information on people a few generations back, before 1900 is
best. Think about it, more people will be related to you if you go BACK in
time. People who ask for help on contemporary people only they are related to
will rarely fine answers. (We try to point people to death, brith, social
security records so they CAN get back a few generations. Be willing to get
these records and do some of your work).
3. Be sure and state GEOGRAPHIC PLACE OF RESIDENCE, DATES, SPOUSES, etc. when
inquiring. You'd be surprised at the cryptic little two line vague inquiries
we get sometimes or that I see all over the internet.
Don't expect too many answers if you don't give enough info.
Hope your research is going well and I hope this helps! Things are going
great guns on our end.
My best as usual,
D'Ann
