I thought I had "found" this but the person I found died at age 65, not
9, although I may be misinterpreting the dates in the printout from
Chester.
The information I have came from Chester F. Swetmon of Roswell, GA.
His parents were Chester William Swetmon and Sallie Aubrey Chamblee.
Sallie Aubrey Chamblee was the dau of SYLVESTER THOMAS CHAMBLEE and EULA
C. BENNETT.
SYLVESTER THOMAS CHAMBLEE was born March 11, 1858 in Forsyth Co., GA,
and died January 7, 1944 in Fulton Co., GA. He was 6 ft. tall, weighed
170 lbs., had brown hair and blue eyes, with fair complexion. Chester's
info on Eula says "m. Chamblee, Eula C. Bennett from 11/6/1879 to
1/7/1944" -- that may very well mean he married her in 1879 and their
marriage terminated with his death. He noted the family moved to MILTON
COUNTY in approximately 1913.
Ebenezer Cemetery (if I remember correctly -- I've only been there once)
is at the corner where one turns to go to Union Primitive Baptist Church
were Enoch Chamlee is buried -- north out of Roswell toward Cherokee
County.
The children of Sylvester Thomas Chamblee and Eula C. Bennett were:
Jolly Clyde Chamblee born 11/25/1880 Forsyth Co GA
Susan L. Chamblee Hawkins Hayes born 11/23/1884 Forsyth Co GA
Maude Eugene Chamblee Tollison born 1888 Forsyth Co GA
Elias Preston "Bud" Chamblee born 8/11/1890 Forsyth Co GA
Mary Iris Chamblee Chadwick born 8/18/1892 Forsyth Co GA
Annie Mae Chamblee Maloney born 2/14/1898 Forsyth Co GA
Sallie Aubrey Chamblee Swetmon born 2/9/1902 Forsyth Co GA
According to Chester Swetmon, Sylvester Thomas Chamblee was the son of
William Lamar "Billy" Chamblee born 1832 Anderson Co SC and died 1923
Milton Co GA
William Lamar "Billy" Chamblee was the son of James Chamblee (1806) and
Nancy Skelton.
Chester Swetmon may be contacted (if this business card is still
correct) at MGM Properties, Inc., 1025 Brooksglen Dr., Roswell GA 30075.
