(1909) Fallen Asleep in Christ
At her home on Main st. Hackett, Ark., July 4, /09 at 5 PM, M. Jennie; wife
of R.H. Chamlee. She was born at Dalton, A, Oct 2nd 1857. Was married at
Athens, Tenn., April 27th, 1879. she had 3 children, Wm. A., Marshal and
Grace. she was in bed 7 weeks with cancer of the stomach, attended by her
husband and mother and many loving friends; and at last by her son Marshal,
and his loving wife. she belonged to the only Church on God's footstool and
did not become a member by joining. She knew the way for she had entered in,
by the door, the truth, the life, the way. When her last moments came and she
was in the shadow of death, she said "Oh how white! And there are two! and
there are two more! Oh how beautiful! how white!" Just then, her spirit
returned to God who gave it; and on July 5th, at 6 pm we laid her soul and
body in Winchester Cemetery, her body to remain there forever, and her soul
to be raised when God's last trump shall sound; which will be only a few more
years, for the bride of Christ is getting ready, getting the spots of her
garments; Are you ready? May our God ring each one into the way of life, who
was so ready with willing hands in this our trouble.
