Discovered today in an old well-kept scrapbook at The First United
Methodist Church, Milledgeville, Georgia, is the newspaper wedding
write-up, parties reports, and invitation to the wedding of CORESSA
EBERHART of Milledgeville, GA, to MILLARD WALLACE CHAMBLEE. The wedding
took place at The First Presbyterian Church on August 1st at 5:30 PM (NO
DATE -- most of these wedding in this scrapbook seemed to have taken
place in the early to mid 1930's but I have no assurance of those dates
). Handsome pictures of the bride and groom, plus the wedding party,
are part of the notebook. A Mrs. Woods did the flowers for many
weddings, indoor and outdoor, in this area long before there were
florists who handled such matters. . .she kept a nice record. . .
Excerpted from the several articles: "Mr. Chamblee is a representative
of families prominently identified in North Carolina and is the eldest
son of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Brown Chamblee of Zebulon, North Carolina.
He is a descendant of the Williams and Griffin families of the Chamblee
and Brown families. He attended the University of North Carolina and
was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He is now associated with
his father in business in Zebulon.
Anne's comment: Gee,whiz! You never know when you're gonna run into
Chamblees!
