Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any information on an Admirour J. Chamlee?
I was looking up Chamlees at the Bureau of Land Management Internet Site for
the state of MO. I found My Riley Chamlee had received a homestead site of 80
acres in 1872 in Greene co., MO. I knew he was in the area at the time so
that wasn't a surprise, just nice extra documentation. But, I also found an
Admirour J. Chamlee that had received a Homestead tract of 160 acres in Texas
Co., MO on April 20, 1874. I have no idea if Admirour and my Riley are
connected. Does anyone have any information on Admirour? While I'm at it,
does anyone out there that I haven't talked with before know of my Riley
Chamlee? Thanks, Cindy Klein

Hello Andrea, That note was meant for D'Ann so I accidentally sent it to
the list. She has the Rochter Chamblees information that I hope will lead
me to find the homeplaces of those old Chamblees.
One of our Chamblee's mentioned a cabin that was once lived in by James
Chamblee that was still
standing 5 years ago. I'd like to see if it's still standing. I live about
5 to 7 miles from Zebulon and I don't ever remember an old cabin.....

I don't understand your question.
My father is James Chamblee. Please give me more information about your
request.

If the Rochter Chamblee book tells where James chamblee and other
houses
were located.
are you able to tell me where to look?

Hi Bill,
I saw your posting about a Chamblee cabin that is still standing. The old
Chamblee homeplace of my Chamblee line (my grandfather James W. Chamblee was
born there) is still standing close to the New Hope community. I'm not sure if
that is the place you are talking about or not. It is not a cabin though.
It's a two-story home built on a rock foundation. Please let me know and I
will give you directions and more information.

Hi Andrea,
Bill was refering to James Chamblee(1770-1836), who was a son of old
Robert Chamblee of Wake County. There are several of Robert's descendants
still living in the area where some of the original homesteads were located.
The Rochter Portland Chamblee Journal he referenced was written by a great
grandson of Robert Chamblee ca. 1900 that contains genealogical information.
One copy is retained by D'Ann Stoddard, one of the main Chamblee researchers.
Hope this clarifies his note.
-Bob Chamblee
I do apologize, but I seem to have an urge to clean up my mailbox.
This information may be useful to those of you with Mississippi kin.

Sorry folks, I meant to give you this information sooner. The following
means that only those of you subscribed to this list may post. Posts from
outsiders come directly to me. From what I have seen in my mailbox, only
spam has been excluded so far. Should someone be excluded in error, I am
able to forward the message to the list, after it is directed to me. So
this new parameter should be beneficial.
