Hi,
I was prowling around in census records for my Chambers line again. I have always been
intrigued that the Jacob Chambers I was researching didn't match the age all the time
on the census and didn't match up to the age of his wife. So. I thought I was right,
however, because I was researching a little bitty county/town in Missouri.
Well. The census has now proven me wrong to my satisfaction and I am now thinking I am
about 500 percent correct that this is now my corrected line:
What I knew was that my line comes out of Andrew Jackson Chambers, born 1871/3 in Wright
County, Missouri, Hartville. His parents were Jacob Chambers and his wife Elizabeth Stacy.
This is what all matches up from the census and I hope that someone will have more
information for me:
1860 Cherokee County, GA Waleseka Township
JACOB CHAMBERS AGE 41 born in Tenn
wife NANCY A. age 36 born in Tenn
children
JACOB age 12 born in GA
William S. age 10 born in GA
Hannah age 4 born in GA
1870 Hartville, Wright Co. Missouri
JACOB CHAMBERS age 51 Tenn
Nancy age 45 Indiana
William 19 GA
Caroline 14 GA
Drucella?? (names are hard to discern) age 8
and Mary age 2 born in Missouri
ALEX YOUNG age 33
wife Silvy... age 38 direct aunt of Elizabeth Stacy
children Hiram, Mary, and Anna Jane
also listing in the home:
JACOB CHAMBERS age 23 and his wife ELIZABETH age 20
I haven't found them at all in 1880 or in 1850. Neither do I know as yet where any
of the other documents for them might be. If anyone is familiar with this information, I
would be just so thrilled to hear from them...
Thanks,
Polly
I have been researching this family for 10 years now and this is my first breakthrough.

I have been researching the long lost Chambers side of my family. The fatherest back I
have been able to go so far is My gr gr grandfather, Silas Luster Chambers (b 1844, d
1871). All I know about him is that he was the 2nd husband of Matilda laughlin (b 1841, d
1909) and they had 2 children Joseph Mart Chambers (b 1867, d 1948), my gr grandfather,
and Elizabeth (Etta) Chambers Hartman Sinclair ( b 1870, d 1921). My Silas Luster Chambers
was born in Indiana. Maybe Davies County. Is there a connection to your Silas Luster
Chambers?
