I know that this is an old thread but never out if date. The Mayo Chambers who descended
from MacAmbrois/McCambridge and came to Ireland with the MacDonalds can be found
throughout Mayo. DNA evidence now shows that the Burrishole (Newport area) Chambers and
the North Mayo Chambers are related. Their DNA tests as R1a1a which is Norwegian Viking.
The Mackinac Island Chambers are also R1a1a.
Keep in mind that our family is 0.5 % of the Chambers. The other family lines are not
related. All those lines can be found in Ireland. The majority of the Scots-Irish who
emigrated to America in the 1700's are not related.
I urge all Mayo Chambers to take the yDNA test at FTDNA.
