Fellow Researchers:
I have been provided with the following information regarding my ancestors:
My ggg grandparents are: JACOB FORTNER/FAULKNER,etc, (b.abt 1799, Granville
Co. NC, d between 1850-1860, Greene Co TN). On August 27, 1818, in Greene Co,
TN. he married ELIZABETH CHAMBERS.
Jacob is son of SUGAR/SHUGAR Fortner (Faulkner, etc.) & PRISCILLA
ROBINSON/ROBISON/ROBERTSON. NC>Greene Co.
Elizabeth Chambers is the daughter of WILLIAM CHAMBERS and CASSANDRA W.
ROBINSON/ROBISON, m. November 6, 1785. Marriage appears in both Rowan and
Guilford Co. Records. They were associated with the New Garden MM, NC.
The Sugar and Priscilla Robinson/Forkner information is very much available
and I don't have any questions at the moment..
Does anyone have information to:
1. Confirm that the Elizabeth Chambers that married Jacob is the son of
William and Cassandra. (I note there is William Chambers in Greene Co Census
at the right time)?
2. Does anyone have any more information on this William Chambers (all I have
is above) or Elizabeth, not that I've pinned her down a bit.
3. I have noted the research done on the Robinson family (Priscilla). Does
anyone have information on Cassandra W?? and does she fit in with Priscilla.
In other words, do I have yet another case of first cousins marrying each
other??
Thank you very much. I have information on the descendants of Jacob and
Elizabeth to share.
Note: this is a multiple posting to surname, Quaker and TN/NC lists. My
apologies to those of you who get more than one copy.
