I have found so many errors in family history books it is unbelievable.
I verify the info before I incorporate into my files. In three
different written family history books it was written that my gg
grandmother Brooks was a sister to Isham G. Harris. I researched that
line of Harrises for 12 years and could not connect her to them. Then
this summer I decided to ignore this bit of info and start from scratch.
Her father was actually Williams Harris of Orange County, NC. I cannot
find any connection between him and the Isham G. Harris family. So what
I am saying, is be very careful with any info that is not documented.
It can lead you further away instead of closer.

I've struggled with the veracity of this book. It contains a good bit of
"family folklore" that has been unsubstantiated with primary sources. I
believe I have a copy of the pertinent pages as they apply to the four
Chambers brothers (Joseph, Robert, James and Benjamin) on the Susquehanna.

Well, I've had tons of people asking me about this book.
I honestly think that it's going to answer alot of questions for alot of
people.
I think I need to get my hands on it. =)
I will "try".
I trust in this book as it was published in 1925. So it's old! It was
falling apart.
The book included letters from the men I mentioned in my previous
emails. So there is documented proof on this family. =)
I'll keep everyone posted.
