I am looking for any information on any of the following of my family
history. George Storm died about 1836 and was married to Winnea Ann
Rusher, daughter of James Rusher of Indiana. George died in a sawmill
accident and is buried in an unmarked grave in a cemetary just across
the road from Indian Lake above Hawesville, Ky. They had a son (1 of 4
children) named John James (b. 29 June 1829 probably in Indiana ; buried
in Hawesville Cemetary, KY) He married Mary Ellen Cox on 29 Dec. 1953 -
daughter of Robert Cox and Laetitia Davison who was the daughter of
William Davison and Cecelia Hardin. It was written in one family history
that after Winnea Ann died, John James and 2 surviving siblings became
the ward on a Peter Brewer. It is also written that this George Storm
may have been a son of a Peter Storm who lived in Ohio County and later
in Spencer County, Indiana.
John James was a Methodist Minister and was a Judge of Hancock County
Kentucky in the mid 1850's. One of J.J.'s and Mary Ellen's sons was
George Nester Storm (b. 16 Oct 1872 ; d. 5 Mar 1922 and buried in
Blackford Church Cemetary). George Nester Storm married Cora Florence
Chambers, daughter of Samuel Chambers and Caroline E. Bruner. I can
trace Caroline's family back to her GGGGgrandfather Joseph vonBruner of
Germany but I have not found anything on Samuel Chambers. George Nester
and Cora had many children, one of which was my grandfather who moved
from Kentucky to Illinois for work at the age 16.
His name is Earl Chambers Storm and has helped me as much as he can
remember. Maybe some of these details will match a name that someone
has. I would be very appreciative of any help anyone might be able to
give me.
