I just ran into a marvelous website: chambersancetry.info
It has a book written in 1925 about Chambers. I can't actually connect a specific
person in my family, but people had so many children that I think that they are probably
related some way. The Scottish connection is really interesting. They say that we all
came from Scotland and some briefly lived in Ireland. Others remained in Ireland long
enough to be termed ScotsIrish. My family always said that we were Scottish, but had no
idea when we came over. On this site, the first Chambers was George Chambers of
Jamestown! Other Chambers came later, especially when James I brought the Catholic Church
back to Scotland. Anyway check out the
www.chambersancestry.info website.
My Greatgrandfather was George Thomas Chambers b. 27 Apr 1835 d. 15 Jul 1901 Umpire,
Howard County, Arkansas. Buried in Bethel Cemetery as is his brother Andrew Wilson.
