Thomas Chambers
ANDERSON, Oct. 29 _ Thomas Chambers, 81 of Starr, died at his home at 11
p.m. Wednesday following 10 years declining health.
A farmer and meat market operator, Mr. Chambers was the son of the late
James and Sarah Busby Chambers.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Watters Chambers; one son Steve, Starr;
one daughter, Mrs. Charlie Jones, Starr; one step-son, George Penny
Watters, Lowndesville; 12 grandchildrne and eight great grandchildren; three
brothers, Henry, Anderson; George, Starr; Lee, Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters,
Mrs. Minnie Brown, Atlanta; and Mrs. Annie Williams, Lowndesville.
Funeral services will be conducted at Ridge Methodist Church near
Lowndesville Friday at 4 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetary by the
Rev. M.M. Brooks, the Rev. Ralph Chandler and the Rev. Paul Betsell. Burial
will be in the church cemetary.
Pallbearers will be Hoyt and Broadus Jones, Hubert and Lester Watters,
George Alexander and Pete Parnell.
The honorary escort will be composed of J.T. McDougal, Dewey Shore, W.L.
Mouchet, W.T. Pettigrew, Robert McMahan and Carl Smith. The body will be at
the home of his son Steve in Starr.
McDougald Funeral Home is in charge.
