Hi
No I'm afraid we're 300 years adrift on that. Also there is no Clyde-Tweed
river valley. The river Clyde flows into the sea on the West coast of
Scotland near Glasgow and the river Tweed flows into the sea on the East
coast of England near Berwick. The headwaters of the two rivers are over a
hundred miles apart.
In 1739 both Wolsty castle and Hollym castle were totally ruined. The stone
from Wolsty castle was used to help build the Elizabethan walls of Carlisle
about 1580. Hollym castle was deserted and fell into ruin in the 15th
century and even Cromwell who tore down hundreds of castles in the 17th
century could find enough of the castle to bother about.
In or after 1739 there were virtually no castles being lived in, they would
be pretty uncomfortable, draughty and cold to live in and they served no
useful purpose after 1605.

I found the orgins fasanating,I am of Chambers desendants.
I come from Edmund Chambers b. 4/30/1739 Yourshire,England.
Family history says Edmund Chambers was a caretacker. On the estate at
Clyde-Tweed River Valley. He fell in love with the daughter of the castle
owner,a girl named Patience. The castle lord didn't aprove and sent her to
the America to end the relation. Later Edmund went to America and found
Patience and they were wed. That was the beging of our Chambers line.
How could one go about finding what Lord this was? Would this have been
Wolsty Castle in Yourkshire? Would Patience been a Bruce?
Do you have anymore information on these Chambers?
Thank you so very much,
Dennis Johnson
