I am interested in hearing about Chambers from Indiana. My ggrandfather was Jobe Chambers
-- born 18 April 1837 I am not sure where, possibly New Jersey. He married Mary Ann Jones
from Warrilshire in England on 28 August 1856. Mary Ann was born on 9 June 1838. They
lived in the Bowling Green area of Clay Country, Indiana. I have also been told that they
have some connections to Spencer, Indiana which is nearby.
Their children were
Sarah Chambers Houck who married Rilley Houck and had 6 children and lived in Clay County,
ID
Charles P. Chambers (my grandfather) born 12 Novemeber 1858 near Bowling Green, and who
married Sarah Stevens in 1880, had one child Ezra and Sarah died in 1884. He then married
Susan Sanderson in 1885 and had 12 more children (including my father Guy) while living in
Sidney, Nebraska. He was a prominent citizen of that town.
George Chambers, married Jinnie and had 4 children.
John Chambers who married Sofia and had two children
Bob Chambers who had three wives
Eliza Ellen Chambers Holley who married Samuel Holly and had 10 children. She was buried
in Clay County near Petersburg.
I have pretty good knowledge of Charles P. Chambers descendents. I am interested in
knowing more about Jobe Chambers -- where he came from and who his parents were. He lived
into his 80s I gather.
