FRANCES M. CHAMBERS
FEBRUARY 25, 1882
Frances M. Chambers died in Chatsworth at the home of his son-in-law, A. ? Roberts on
Friday February 8th. On the Sabbath morning the remains were borne to the Baptist church,
where the funeral services were held, and after a very able and impressive discourse by
the Rev. W.F. Wilson, who officiated, assisted by the Rev. G.W. Walker, the funeral
cortege moved from the church to the cemetery and all that remained of him who was near
and dear to his children was laid in the silent tomb.
Mr. Chambers was born in Euphemia, Preble county, Ohio, September 11, 1816. He was married
to Miss Eleanor J. Brice, April 15, 1841. The fruits of this marriage were five children -
three boys and two girls. Four of the children survive. One - a daughter- died in
infancy.
After twenty years of happy wedded life death entered the home and the wife and mother was
summoned to her long home.
In 1852 Mr. Chambers moved to Illinois, first settling in Peoria. Fifteen years ago he
came to Chatsworth, and has had his permanent home here since then.
In the death of Mr. Chambers, a loving, kind father, a good neighbor, a sterling christian
man is lost to the community.
The community deeply sympathize with the bereaved family. Peace to his ashes.
