Certainly,
Thomas McCutcheon was b. in Utenards, IRE. Went to TN in 1817, 1825 they were in Gibson
Cty., Indiana. They lived in Kentucky and Missouri. In 1845 they decided to travel to
Oregon via the Oregon Trail. They arrived at The Dalles on the Columbia River Oct. 1845.
Early in Feb. 1846 they descended the Columbia arriving in Ft. Vancouver. From there they
went up the Williamette River and located East of Oregon City on Tualatin Plains. In the
fall of 1847 they continued to the salt water in the Puget Sound area. They paddled down
the Williamette to Portland. From Portland they followed downstream on the Columbia to
the mouth of the Cowlitz, then upstream to Cowlitz Landing. They spent the winter in
Chehalis, WA the went to the pairie SE of Olympia, eventually ending up in Steilacoom,
WA.
