Polly -
I tried all afternoon to fit your Chambers-Mayfield Connection into mine.
My Chambers and Mayfield lines are connected, in fact, the Mayfield name is
used as a middle name in my Chambers line even today.
I've looked in my research, though, and I don't have a Jacob Chambers. I
have other Nancy Mayfields but none that fit the birthdate you mentioned.
When I do my Mayfield and Chambers research, I find places all over Indiana,
Illinois, and Ohio. We must be talking about cousins, don't you think?
I'll keep looking for a connection. In the meanwhile, look at my research at
http://www.morganjohnson.org/ if you have time to see if you recognize other
names. Click on "My Genealogy" to see the list of surnames, etc.

Subject: [CHAMBERS] Chambers/Mayfield
Hi,
I have been meaning to ask but got wrapped up in other things...
I have seen on the census for Missouri (Wright County) and Georgia
(Cherokee County) that my Jacob Chambers was married to a Nancy. Nancy was
said to be born in Indiana in 1826. There is a Nancy Chambers on the 1880
census who lives with a Mayfield family. When I found her on a
rootsweb.com
tree, I emailed the person who had the site. Well. The original person who
had it passed away. The person who took it over didn't know anything about
Nancy.
So. I am asking, does anyone know about the Mayfield connections and who
Nancy Mayfield Chambers might have married?
Love to all the cousins and good luck finding the answer to a brick wall
in time for Christmas and the new year...
