Hi,
May gggrandfather was Robert Talbert Chambers who was born in CAN and died in Tuscola Co.,
MI.
We had done yDNA testing on one of his descendants with the following results:
John Talbot Chambers, b. ab. 1767 PA Unknown Origin R1b1a2a1a1 13 24 15 10 11-14 12 12 12
13 13 29
This was his first 12 STR markers.
I noticed that a descendant of your Thomas Chambers had the following results:
Thomas Chambers, b.1811 Virginia United Kingdom R1b1a2 13 24 14 10 11-14 12 12 12 13 13
29
So, at 12 markers, both Chambers families are off my one STR marker, which is close.
My Chambers family may have come to MI by way of NY, NJ, PA, NY, CAN, and MI.
We are doing testing of the Joseph Chambers family. Joseph was born about 1792 in NJ.
My Robert Chambers' grandfather my have been also born in NJ but in 1744 and may have
been Joseph Chambers' uncle.
The descendant of Joseph Chambers has the following STR 12 marker results:
Joseph Chambers, b. 1792 NJ Unknown Origin R1b1a2 13 24 14 10 11-11 12 12 12 13 13 29
So, your descendant of Thomas Chambers was also off by one STR marker, too, from Joseph
Chambers' descendant but a different one then the descendant of Robert Chambers.
It is interesting to think that our Chambers families may be related at a recent date.
Have you learned anything new about Thomas Chambers' origin and ancestry?
Mark
