Hi Lori, I have all the info you ask about and yes indeed it it very sad. The more I
uncover the sadder I become and angry as well. My father was a month shy of being 9 when
my grandfather was arrested in Russell County and took to Tazewell County where he was
took before the judge and, with the help of 2 locally area well known doctors at the time,
he was declared insane. There was no one there on his behalf. My grandmother at that time,
as my father remembers tried to give him away. He doesn't remember to who and has
tried to find out. He can remember they were a somewhat weathy family that promised to
educate him and take care of him but, because he cried so for his mother, they took him
back to her. My grandmother never did divorce my grandfather nor did she ever remarry but,
my father remembers the company of several different men. There was a small estate of my
grandfather's that was devided equally amoung them all when he died but, to this day I
am still working on th!
at. There was also a person named administrator over this and my father wants to know how
and why. It has taken all these years to find out that my grandfather was not in a
veterans hospital all that time and my father could have had the chance to have known his
dad. Carlos was born May 10, 1898 died April 15,1968. Mary Bowers Chambers born Nov. 13,
1896 died Dec. 1977. They had Pearlie Marie, Nov. 26, 1917, Nannie Mae Nov. 4, 1919, Dewey
Lee birth?, Helen 1924, James Feb. 1927, George Samuel 1929, Andrew David May 22, 1932,
Donald Carlos May 10, 1935. The information I found on the McGlothlin Lineage is under the
world tree search for Reese Chambers, listed
awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?ti=0&surname=chambers&given=carola. Lori all of
the children of Carlos and Mary are deceased except James, Donald and Andrew my dad. My
grandmother used to tell my father when he would question her about things to let old
sleeping dogs lie, I am learning more as to why now.
