Randy , How are you?, We have talked before and I was wondering if you have a list of the
Chambers from the DNA test that you are related to. I am not able to do the test right
now but would like to know who I am related to down my Harden Chambers line from
Washington County, Ga. Thanks for your info,
Rita S. Chambers

Hi, My name is Randy Chambers and my
ggf was James Clifton Chambers b
1838 either in Ga or TN. I know he had a brother
names William Joseph
Chambers taht was b about 1835 or 36. A Moses
Chambers was b about
1798 in SC. James C and Moses lived in hancock
County, Ga in 1860. I
believe Moses was James' uncle as his daughter were
referred to as
cousins> According to James C's grandson, he also
had cousins living
in Burke Co. NC and Pickens Co. SC. According to DNA
results, my
family was related to the Chambers of Cades Cove, TN.
Many of which
moved to California. According to James gs, the
Chambers from Burke
Co., along with some other Chambers and families from Ga,
upper state
SC and NC moved to Boonesville, KY and from there many
moved into TN
and others into the midwest. I've not been able to
connect with any of
these.
I believe that James' father was James A of White/Habersham
County Ga.
in 1840, the census shows a WJ and JC of the correct ages
but in 1850,
things get a little confused as there's a John born in
1840. I have no
idea what happened to James. James A's grandson came
to Iva, SC to
help the Chambers on the farm in the 1920's and his
grandson's daughter
was born in Iva in 1925.
One other thing that confuses me is that in the early
census on which
James appears he list his birth place as Ga and his parents
as SC which
fits in with james A but in the later census he list Tn as
his
birthplace and his parents birthplace as Ga. I know
that Moses was in
Polk Co. Tn in 1830 but can not find a Moses prior to that
with the
possible exception of a Moses living in Louisana, single
and of about
the correct age.
My grandfather and father always mentioned that his family
came from Pa
but there's no proof of that. I have a family tree
(from Lenoir
Chambers of Habersham that shows James A as having come
from the
Chambers that settled in Abbeville County SC and came from
Benjamin
Chambers of Va.
I'm not in complete agreement with as I believe James A. is
the son of
William Chambers who lived in the Upstate during the time
James A. was
born and moved into the area in which James A.
settled. Anna Chambers
Cox, whom's husband started the Cox Communications believes
that Lenoir
and she are cousins.
I've encouraged others to have their DNA submitted as it
would
certainly help but for some reason Lenoir nor anyone in
that family
wants to do so. It could certainly put many of us on
the right track
if all Chambers would have a DNA test done.

Once can contact Charlene if they have any questions.
My DNA is listed
under Moses Chambers.
Thanks,
Randy
