Dale is off until Sunday and I will email the pictures to you then. They are of Andrew and
Mary. I wish I had one of Jacob.
I have Jacob only in Andrew's image.
Would you mind showing me your family tree that has Andrew and Jacob on it? I would love
to see how they fit in.
Thanks,
Polly

Hi Pearl,
I descend from Jacob Jr. who married Elizabeth Stacy in Wright County, MO.
Their child, Andrew Jackson Chambers was raised by his maternal
grandmother in north Arkansas. I am not certain what happened with Jacob and
Elizabeth but I have some information that has made me extremely curious.
Andrew's father, Jacob was Jacob Bennett Chambers. Well. In 1900, when my
grandmother was a baby, Andrew and his wife Mary Ellen Baker were living in
Pope County, Arkansas very near a Bennett and Greenberry Chambers. This
Bennett Chambers had a wife named Rebecca. I am wondering if he is actually
Andrew's father remarried with a family of other children.
The next curious thing happened when we visited my grandmother's grave. I
don't know how in the world I missed it, but she is buried in a Chambers
family plot in Price Cemetery, London Arkansas... Pope County. I called my
cousin and asked her about it and she said they were all relatives. But, my
cousin was very sick and died not long after so I never did find out who
those others were. One of them was a lady from our church. You know, my Mom
never did like my grandmother so I didn't even know she was alive until I was
a teenager. Then, when I went to researching, I saw in my grandmother's
obituary that my great-grandmother had been alive. She came to the funeral but
was not allowed to meet us. It is very hard to forgive my mother for that.
So... I don't know anything about my Chambers line except a few things
that seem to be part of the puzzle.
I hope you recall other things that might mean something to this research.
I am very glad to hear from you and would like your personal address so
that we can exchange photos. I have a few of Andrew and Mary but nothing on
Jacob and Elizabeth or the other Jacob and Nancy. My cousin's name was Nancy
Marie... that name coming from the elder Nancy.
thanks,
Polly
