Hi,
How do those other two surnames Bennett and Webb connect to your Chambers? I am very
interested in what you had to say since my Chambers... Jacob and his wife Nancy were in
Lumpkin/Cherokee Georgia for the 1850/60 census records. My great-grandfather was a Jacob
Chambers, Jr. who married Elizabeth Stacy in Wright county, Missouri. Their son Andrew,
was born 1873 either in Missouri or north Arkansas.
Jacob Chambers, Jr. was actually Jacob Bennett Chambers, Jr.
Then you also mentioned a Callaway surname. When we had my brother's DNA done with
ancestry.com, he matched perfectly with 9 Callaway men. Hmm. That was very odd since we
are Murphy/Morphew. The story was that the original name was Morphew and that something
happened in the family that changed it to Murphy. But, now we don't know if it was
neither Morphew or Murphy.
A lady who wrote about her Wright County, Missouri Chambers said that they came out of
either the Elisha or Elijah Chambers lines and that both those men married Moore
sisters... those sisters being sisters to my Daniel Moore grandfather line.
I bet we are connected in some way but I haven't figured out my line placement just
yet.
Thanks and I would love to hear from you again,
Polly
