There are also these deeds to a Benj. Chambers. I have not been able to
tie him to Wm.

I have over six dozen "James Chambers" (all born bef 1850) in my database.
There is data to suggest at least a dozen of those served in the Rev War.
Intuitively, one would think the number would be even higher. :)
Having said that ... of those dozen, James Chambers (1743-1805) served as
a colonel in the 1st PA Regiment. His home was at Loudon Forge, near
present day Chambersburg, PA. He is the son of Benjamin Chambers (ca
1708-1788), the recognized founder of Chambersburg and one of the four
brothers that are the basis for Chambers Heroes. Benjamin's home was
destroyed in the 1864 burning of Chambersburg, but I do not recall if his
son's home was affected given it was in Loudon Forge.
I do not have a "Patrick Hanlin" in my database, but if you would like to
share details regarding his wife, I will be glad to look again.
