Hi Cathy,
I have a little info on William and Olena, but not much. I've had a lot of trouble
finding these folks. Ernie Chambers Faulk was my grandmother. She married Lawrence Leo
Faulk in Crowley, La and one of their children Lillian Faulk Camp was my mother.
Here is what I have so far:
1st of all I've found out that Olena wasn't William's first wife and maybe not
the second. He supposedly had 13 or 17 children in all depending on who you talk to.
William is said to have Cherokee blood and his parents were removed to Indian Territory in
Oklahoma on the Trail of Tears.
I don't know the names of his first wife(s) but some of the children he had before
leaving Oklahoma are: Judy married a Short, Nora married a Duggan (Nora may have moved to
Louisiana with him), Carroll, Bernard, and Zimmie.
William was born in 1852.
He was listed as a land owner in Crowley, Acadia Parish, Louisiana in the 1890 Census.
He married Olena Hannon 29 Aug 1892 in Erath County, Texas.
I can't find anything on Olena other than her marriage to William.
The rest you already know.
I'll keep you in mind if I find out anything else. If you find something I missed, I
sure would appreciate any help I can get on these two.
