Just wondering if you have any ken in the York County, SC area??? This line, as far as we
know, came from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania with sojourn in North Carolina (didn't
stay long) before moving over to somewhere in Georgia (I have not research them too well
this far back) along with one line that went down to York Co where David Chambers was one
of the Judges of the circuit court and his children all married there.
York Co is also where my predecedent, John BATES Sr, called home, he was the Under Sheriff
1791-1820, and have considerable contact with the court system, particularly probate
administering the court's actions while also getting his two oldest sons into being
"court appointed guardians" of family during the probate process, some of which
took a while for final judgement. His daughter, Laodicea/1799 YDSC, married Robert
Chambers/1782/PA, and when John Jr moved his family over to Spalding County, Ga abt 1827
they, with his mother and at least one brother and family, all moved over there as well.
While I have seen reports on Robert marrying a jane GRIGGS in Hancock Co, Ga, I do not
have any authentication it was this Robert mainly because they said he had a daughter who
was with him in Spalding County which I know for an absolute fact is not true as the only
persons in the household in Spalding Co (previously Fayette Co before Spalding was formed)
were him, his wife, his mother and his niece (Agnes Hope MEEK) who was who married
William Thomas BATES Sr, oldest son of John Bates Jr, my BATES Family line.
I am also looking for a CHAMBERS connection in Sabine County, Tx where another sister of
John Jr migrated with her husband, Richard Lawson REEVES, migrated about 1851 after
several years sojourn in Georgia and Alabama.

I'm not sure this will be of help but my gf's brother told his grandson that the
Chambers that lived in Burke County, NC were our cousins. These cousins, he said,
migrated to Boonesboro, Ky along with other Chambers in NC and SC and some made it as far
at TN. These Chambers were reported to have migrated on into other parts of Ky and INd.
I submitted my DNA to the Chambers DNA project and had a 100% hit with Herman Chambers,
son of Charles Hamilton Chambers, son of Moses Chambers. I've not been able to make
the connection with these chambers but my ggf was James C Chambers, b1837 in Habersham Co.
Ga., son of James A Chambers b1814SC. James A is possibly the son of William Chambers who
lived in Habersham for a while and later moved to Banks Co. Ga. Many Chambers from
Haywood County, NC moved to Habersham Co. in the early 1800's. My
ancestry.com DNA
has me being kin to many Chambers family with John and John Chambers Jr. of Abbeville
County, SC and to the Abner/Reynol!

Chambers. Several members of my family have said we were of a
Chambers family from Scotland and that they moved south out of PA. Randy Chambers
