To All:
Is there anyone on the list that descends from Martha Hunt (Allen) Chambers
of Buckingham Co., VA?
I'm trying to get an item straighten out on the mother of Martha Hunt
(Allen) Chambers.
This web page has the mother of Martha Hunt (Allen) Chambers who is Mary
(Ballard) Allen wife of George Hunt Allen.

That web page has her dying 28 Dec 1786 Buckingham Co., VA
I believe most of the information for the above webpages came from the book
"The Allen Family of England, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee,
Mississippi, Texas, and Illinois, 1600-1995, the Descendants of Captain
William Allen and His Wives, Hannah Watson and Mary Hunt Minge", Baltimore,
MD: Gateway Press, 1995 by Richard Fenton Wicker, Jr.
The book also has Mary (Ballard) Allen dying in 1786 Buckingham Co., VA.
In a court case in Buckingham Co., VA in 1802 between George Allen, his
Admix, etc., vs Benjamin Cottrill there is this portion of that case:

According to the judgment in the court record Mary Allen admix of Geo. H.
Allen is to receive money Jan 1802 per a writ of 17 Nov 1801. So Mary Allen
is alive and well in 1801. And as matter of fact Mary (Ballard) Allen is
alive until after 1810 in Buckingham Co., VA.
I have transcribed the entire court judgment and posted it:
http://genforum.genealogy.com/allen/messages/26003.html and at the bottom of
the post I have the links to the actual image of the court judgment.
If anyone on the list is connected to Martha Hunt (Allen) Chambers I would
appreciate getting a reply.
