Hi Brian, listed in Genealogy of Old and New Cherokee Families is a lot of
Chambers, starting with two white men who are presumed to be brothers , John and
Maxwell Chambers. Maxwell, at least is buried in OK, so some or most of the
family migrated to OK. I could NOT find Mariah but will be happy to copy and
forward the info on the other Chambers if you wish. Please send snail mail
address and be patient. My time will be limited until after the holidays. BARB

Hello All
It has been a while since I last posted this. I thought maybe there was
someone new to the list that could help. Mariah Chambers was my gggg
greatgrandma. She married a Francis Marion Caffey (b Jun 13 1827 / d 1867)
on May 1 1851 either in MO or AR. They had 5 children: Lucinda Jane Caffey
(my line), Daniel Nuton, Robert
F., Preston S., and Francis Marion. After Francis died, Mariah married John
Kissee. They had 2 children: Marie Tennessee and Margaret (Maggie) I know
that Mariah was of Cherokee descent. I do not know any more information on
her or her parents. Any help would be welcome
Brian
