Hi,
My Chambers line must surely fit in here somewhere:
GENERATION ONE
JACOB CHAMBERS m Nancy. She is listed on the census as being born in Indiana, which I have
no doubt because there were a lot of Chambers there and still are. Jacob is possibly the
same listed in 1840 in Pulaski County, Missouri along with two other Chambers men: James
and John. In 1850, the children of either James or John one are all orphans living in
homes in Wright County, Missouri (which was formed out of Pulaski County). Those children
are: Jacob, aged 13, Elizabeth age 14, William Singleton Chambers aged 18 and George aged
21. All of the male children died of wounds during the Civil War. However, George was
married to a Lunsford, William married a Hart and Jacob married an Amanda Choate. In 1850,
my Jacob is listed married to Nancy and they are on the Cherokee County, Georgia census. I
believe that the two Jacobs listed in this paragraph are uncle and nephew. All of the
Chambers list as being from Tennessee but I have found no evidence of them
there and suppose it is before 1840.
SECOND GENERATION
JACOB BENNETT CHAMBERS, JR. married Elizabeth Stacy/Stacey. In 1870, Jacob and Nancy are
listed with their children in Wright County, Missouri. One of the sons was a William H.
but I don't recall the names of the girls right off the top of my head here. I can
look them up if someone is interested. Jacob Jr. and Elizabeth/Betty were living in
the Alexander Young home. I think someone told me that Mrs. Young was a sister or an aunt
to Elizabeth Stacy. Plus, the nephew Jacob lived in the home of Elizabeth's aunt after
he became an orphan... he was in the William Kitchen Benton/Siotha Stacy Benton family
home.
THIRD GENERATION
ANDREW JACKSON CHAMBERS is only listed on the census as being raised by his maternal
grandmother, Catherine KELLY/KELLEY STACY in Newton County, Arkansas. He is listed as
being born about 1873 about the same time another Andrew Jackson Chambers was born in
Wright county, Missouri. However, that Andrew grew up and married a Carolina Simmons and
they had a dozen childdren. He was also a Baptist preacher. Mine married Mary Ellen Baker
in Newton County and they were the parents of four girls. However, the original researcher
of the other Andrew says they were descended from Elijah Chambers who came to Wright
County with his wife Elizabeth Moore. I am curious about that because Elizabeth
Moore's brother is one of my early grandfathers. This is how: Daniel Moore married I
forgot who and they had a daughter Elizabeth. who married one of my Israel Boones... in
the same family as the pioneer Daniel. Elizabeth Betsy Boone married James Hiram
McDaris/Medaris and
their daughter Virginia... well... next generation:
FOURTH GENERATION
MERICA ELIZABETH CHAMBERS married JOHN CLINTON MURPHY. Virginia Medaris was the mother of
John. They are part of the Morphew family who also came to Wright county, Missouri. There
are researchers who think that this Elijah is not mine but I do believe that he is because
he is also listed with his brother Elisha in my Medaris/McDaris family. I think when I
researched Cherokee/Lumpkin Counties in Georgia, I found an older Chambers who was named
Andrew who I speculate might be a generation leading from my Andrew to possibly Elijah. It
would have helped a lot if they didn't have to all name their children the same thing.
One other thing, I had other relatives at the Three Forks Baptist Church in North
Carolina, too, that further connects me up to other Chambers. I have been told that some
of the relatives went to Oklahoma who were descendants of my Jacob and Nancy through the
daughters whose names I have not listed.
Thanks,
Polly

Some of my relatives came out of NC and I'm told they came from Pa. Jesse,
William, John, Raymong, and Robert are all names found in my family. You may
want to check Burke Co, and Rowan Co. NC areas for Chambers in the late
1700's and early 1800's. I know some of my relatives lived in Burke Co.
NC, migrated to Ky and then floated down the KY and TN rivers into Cades Cove
TN. Other went on into other Midwestern states. I've haven't been able
to make the direct connect but according to one of my cousins who related this
story to me, I found out later via a DNA connection that the story was evidently
true. My ggf was born in GA in 1838 and his father was born in SC but I
can't locate him at this time. My earliest relative found was Moses
Chambers b abt 1798 in SC. My ggf's children referred to Moses's
children as cousins.
Best of luck in your search.
