Does anyone have any information on James or John Chambers married to a Nancy
Windsor or Nancy Tracey (1700's). I am getting conflicting information on James
and John and both married to both of the above women. Patty

Hello Everyone,
I subscribe to a newsletter collection, The Confederate Veteran. It is
a compilation of first-hand accounts, and various other histories of events
that occurred during the Civil War, and various memorials & celebrations
that occurred during the 40 years following the war. This month's selection
is vol. VII, 1899.
Starting on page 313 of the above volume, there is a listing of 600
Confederate officers, listed by state, & in order of rank, highest to
lowest.
Listed under the State of Alabama, there is a Captain Charles E.
CHAMBERS, of the 13th Infantry; his residence listed as Tuskegee; captured
at Gettysburg, July 4, 1863.
I have stumbled across this account of "The Immortal 600" on a few Civil
War pages on the internet, but for the life of me, I can't remember where.
I did manage to come up with 2 URL's to at least get those interested
hopefully pointed in the right direction, and get a glimpse of "man's
inhumanity to man".
