OH I won't give up. :) I just go in phases of research. I find when I turn around and every where I look, no matter the person I'm searching, and come up empty, it's time to give it a break. I've had a 6 year break since the last time I looked anything up and in the last few days, I have uncovered some of my brick walls. Though, none of them related to my Chambers.
My Chambers are a brick wall since they came over in 1860 so we're a fresh set. My brick wall happens in Campsie, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Oh, and Bellshills for my Chambers relations - Speirs, Young, Dick, and maybe Belle. I've not determined if that's a last name or just a passed down middle name.

Hello "left out" from Scotland. I am a "brick wall" Chambers. I figure we are all cousins at some point. I can go back as far as "N.C./S.C. Chambers" If around 1805 then I am lost. If you want I would be more than happy to share what I have. Don't loose interest.

I find much interest on the Hunt lineage; is anyone researching the ancestry
of Philip Chambers who married Mary Hunt? If so, please contact me directly

Sorry for mistyping - Ely, I knew that's what it was, don't know where Bly came from. I'd be hard pressed to say whether her death reads the twenty eighth or twenty ninth. Either way, definitely not the 20th as I'd said. I'd missed the end of it when I originally transcribed it. Thank you for correcting me. Happy "Hunt"ing!

Then I'd guess that the HUNT side of that family isn't of interest to you... BUT, if you go to the Drouin Collection at Ancestry and look at the original document for the Death of Mary HUNT CHAMBERS, she was of the Township of Ely, not Bly. The death date on the original record was 29 March, 1877 with burial on the thirtieth.

LOL Have you been sitting here the last 4 years awaiting my reply?!
I'm actually tied to the Chambers and Darrah lines. Started looking at Philip when I saw he had a witness at wedding of Jacob Chambers and Frances Darrah. My ancestor Elizabeth Chambers, sister of Jacob & possibly Philip, married William Darrah bother of Frances.

thank you so very much. I have parentage for Phillip Hunt, but I don't know if you're chasing that line. He was the ninth (of ten) children of Jeremiah and Mary (Vincent) Hunt.
Haven't worked this family in several months, but you've made a nice contribution to the effort. Thank You.

My guess would be yes, Philip Hunt was Philip Chambers' father-in-law.
Hannah, daughter of Philip Chambers, of Stanbridge, cooper, and MARY HUNT his wife died on the 23rd day of August one thousand eight hundred and fifty two, aged twenty three years, and was buried the 25th day of the same month and year before subscribing witnesses by me, subscribing minister. M. Montgomery, minister
Witnesses: Philip Chambers
Jeremiah R--field
Also noted that in the 1861 census a Miles Hunt is living with the Chambers family, age 22.
Mary Hunt Chambers died March 20, 1877 in Bly district of Bedford, Quebec.
I believe Philip may be the same man who witnessed the marriage of my ancestor's brother Jacob Chambers to Frances Darrah in 1815 in Dunham - neighboring town to Stanbridge.
A Philip Chambers married a minor named Abigail Kerby in Dunham in 1823. The daughter Abigail that appears in the 1851 Stanbridge census was born that year (Hannah was born 4 years later). I have not been able to find the marriage of Philip to Mary Hunt or a death for Abigail Kerby Chambers but think it possible that Abigail died in childbirth and Mary was his 2nd wife.

I fully agree. My Chambers came from Cherokee, Georgia into Wright County,
Missouri and before that, Tennessee and North Carolina. tis a real shame we
females are left out. In my grandmother's family, Her Andrew Jackson Chambers
and his wife Mary Ellen Baker only had the 4 daughters. We have no known male.
The family is extinct for our line of Chambers as a surname. But, one of us
inherited an X from a grandmother. Andrew had a Mom.
If any of you guys take the test out of a line that might connect to mine, I
would love to know about it.
It is supposed to be coming out of Elijah Chambers who married Rebecca Moore but
there are a couple of generations in between. One of them is Jacob Chambers who
married Nancy Unknown. There is one more generation because I don't think that
Elijah is his father. I think he is Jacob's grandfather. And, it could be
through a mother who was a McDaris.
So, guys, I will be really interested in knowing what you find:
Jacob had two brothers... John and James who also were in Wright County,
Missouri... which came out of Pulaski County, Missouri.
Thanks,
Polly

Tis a shame females are left out of such projects. I am a Chambers but I know
mine come from Scotland and to find my clan is like finding a needle in a
barnful of hay stacks.
