I am trying to sort out the children of Giles and Ruth (VanMeter) Chambers and George and Sarah (Dillon) Chambers, both of whom settled early in Hancock County, KY. Can anyone help? I think most if not all of the Chamberses on the 1850 and 1860 censuses come from one of these two families. Were George and Giles related?

I've noticed that this family lived in Hancock County Ga. My gggf James C Chambers(b1837 Ga or Tn) and Moses Chambers(b1798, SC) lived in Hancock County in 1860. James joined the confederate in Green County. I've noticed that many Chambers from NC lived in Hancock County in the early 1800's. I've come to find that my family is from the Benjamin Chambers (b abt 1753 in Orange Co.) and Benjamin Chambers of Chambersburg, Pa. Maybe your lineage may be proven with a DNA sample to the Chambers DNA profile.

Grandma Young is listed on a 1920 census with Grandpa and a gentleman by the name of Pete Robinson is listed as a resident and father in law to head of household(Grandpa Young). It also has Grandma and her siblings on it. Look under 1920 Census for James C Young married to Mary E Young living in Bird, Jackson, Arkansas. Good Luck!

My Chambers group also lived in Arkansas... Pope County... and had Youngs
intermingled in marriages... do you know anything further about them? Mine also
lived in Wright/Pulaski County, Missouri and Georgia.

Cheri,
My mom is Margie and my dad was James L Chambers who was your dad's brother sadly, he passed away in the early 90's. I reside in Pittsburgh(Go Steelers). I am about to get married on the 19th to a wonderful woman named Stacey. As far as I can tell, our grandmother's last name is Young. Her parents were Mary Young and James Carl Young. James was listed as a stepson to head of household on a census from 1860 to John N Arnold. His mother's married name was Mattie Arnold. I am still searching for our grandfather, Henry's parents but I will probably run into issues for my understanding is he was full blooded Cherokee. This is as far as I have gotten and it seems to be true. I have just started but I would like to keep in touch. You can find me on Facebook as Roger Chambers from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
Nice chatting with you!
-Roger

Thanks,
I think that is my tree on Ancestry that you found. I forgot to include the info in the last message. There are no other references to this couple on Ancestry.com except for my tree and those that copied it.
My mother has some notes from her mother about the Chambers, but Robert Chambers and Mary Biggins have no dates and no documentation other than oral history.
I need to find some documentation for them. They may have been Irish immigrants. I hope that Robert might even have been related to the Chambersville line, but I have no way of connecting them.
Keith
