Hi Suzanne
thanks very much for the quick reply and info, sadly cannot be the same family, must be coincidental with Hall as i was in hope that maybe the parents of youre george hall chambers might have been a george chambers born aboout 1795 berwick upon tweed and wife elizabeth hall born about 1798 elsdon, northumberland, children, william, alexander hall, mary ann, margaret, elizabeth, hannah mary ann, guess i will have to keep looking for a george and others as there is few large gaps in ages of the few children i have so far?

Hi - I have changed my id since this message was posted - but it's me.
Rev George Hall Chambers was the oldest of 5 boys, George Hall, John, William, Micah, and Jabez born between 1832 and 1843 in various places in County Durham UK to Wesleyan Preacher John Chambers (1807-1859) and Elizabeth Hall (1809-abt1886)
George Hall Chambers married MArgaret Mitchell Allen in Scotland in 1860. Children George Hall born 1861 (could this be the gent you are after?), John Alexander, Allan Herbert and Edith MAry born in various places in the UK depending wher dad was posted as a minister
John Alexander emmigrated 1886, Allan Herbert 1887, no trace so far of George Hall (son) or Edith Mary
Both dad George Hall Chambers and wife MArgaret are buried in West Hill cemetery Sherman
I don't think this sounds like the right family does it?
Suzanne

I am looking for an Andrew Chambers who may have been the son of either Elisha or Elijah Chambers and whose mother was a Moore. Does anyone know who Andrew married and who his children were?
Thanks and lots of love,
Polly

Ken,
If you are still monitoring this string, please contact me at xwench(a)aol.com. I've been trying to find information on my Grandmother Margarette Chambers born 1877 with very little luck. I've finally connected this Benjamin Chambers with her. Rumor always had it that she was American Indian or at least 1/2. My dad died when I was 2 and I never knew my grandmother so any information on the Chambers side of the family would be so very much appreciated. Please contact me if you get this message.
Thanks,
Margie

Hi,
Do you have any relatives of Andrew jackson Chambers, bSC 1793. I've
been able to connect with the Chambers of Cades Cove, TN and believe my
gggf(bSC 1814) {James A.} lived in White/Habersham Georgia. I have a
Moses Chambers bSC abt 1798 that lived in Polk Co, Tn for some time
(worked in a mine) before moving back into Georgia prior to 1840. I
also believe that other Chambers living in Monroe County Tennessee were
related. There is good evidence that the Chambers of Habersham/White
County Georgia visited these Chambers frequently. A Louise Chambers
(gd of James Chambers) was born in Iva, SC in 1925 while her family
visited and helped Thomas Chambers (son of James C. Chambers) on his
farm. There is in my possession a letter written by James A Chambers
(Hab/White) to a Chambers living in Cherokee Co. (maybe NC, Georgia or
Alabama- just not sure).
According to Thomas Chambers' gs, we also had kin living in Pickens
Co., SC and Burke Co, NC. According to thomas' gs, chambers from
Northern Ga, Upstate SC, and Burke Co. NC along with other family
migrated into Tn and Boonesville, KY. There was a town named Chambers
in Burke Co. at one time but it's now just a community with no Chambers
in the area. (While I can't make a connection, some of the chambers
living in Burke Co. in the early 1800's came from Rowan County, NC
Would appreciate any information that would connect these families.
Randy
