Since some are putting up their Chambers line, I'll post mine.
Beginning with Thomas Chambers, b. Abt. 1730, VA. I believe he married,
Millicent. Their daughter, Jincy or Jane Chambers, b. Abt. 1768, in
Lunenburg, Co. VA, was my next ancestor. She married 17 Aug 1787 in
Lunenburg Co., VA, to Edward Rudder. He was b. Abt. 1760 in Lunenburg Co.
Thomas Chambers was a Sergeant in VA during the Am. Rev War.
I notice many list members have their Chambers in AL and GA. I do know,
Edward Chambers, son of Thomas m. Martha Cousins had a son Henry who died
1826 in AL.
My other Chambers descendant who moved to AL is Eleanor Jane Robertson, b.
03 Jun 1808, in VA, d. 09 Sep 1883, Salem, Lee Co, AL. She was the
granddaughter of Edward and Jane/Jincy Chambers Rudder through her daughter,
Polly Rudder who m. 02 Apr 1805, in Lunenburg Co., VA to Christopher
Robertson.
Known related names to these families are: Cousins, Craig, Crowder, Finch,
and Pass.

If folks would post their needs to both the board and the mail list periodically, that will fill that need. It would catch the newbies who would know nothing about a newsletter.
All the newsletters I've ever received just repeat what is on the boards and the mail lists. Why repeat it in a newsletter?

Hi All,
I have just found this thread and would like to join. My Chambers family is from Tullylish, near Banbridge in County Down, Northern Ireland. I live in Newtownards, about thirty miles away. Some Chambers emigrated to Canada in the early 1900s, but may have filtered down to the USA.
Regards,
David A Chambers

Thanks,

Please add my name to the Chambers Finding Chambers newsletter. I, too, am descended from the South Carolina Phillip/Barak/Lucias/Jeanette Angeline Chambers line.

In regards to recent queries concerning a Chambers Newsletter of which I am
not familiar, I see several Chambers who connect by descent from the SC
lines of Phillip Chambers, immigrant from ENG, and Barak, Spencer who moved
from SC through GA, AL, and on to Texas. This is my direct line as Phillip
was my 5th g grandfather.
I have a Phillip Chambers Family group which has over 50 connected members.
It's a free, active, private, invitation only discussion forum with a large
archive of messages, and photos. ( We welcome related families also. )
For an invitation, email dwchambers(a)otelco.net (dwchambers at otelco.net)
Doyle Chambers, Marshall County, AL
If you read the thread from the beginning regarding the Chambers newsletter,
you will find a name and contact e-mail. I sent such and it was returned.
It appears, the Chambers newsletter was never revived. If anyone has
information to the contrary, please post the contact information to this
message board. Thank you.

Sure could use help locating Permelia Chambers. We don't have her maiden name. She married Joseph Davenport approx. 1854-56. Born 1825 and had one child that we know of E J Chambers in 1847.
Any information would be appreciated.

As a hobby, I rescue old photos, that have identification on them. I recently picked up two from an auction. Both were taken in Iowa.
This one has a man & woman on it, and on the back is written: Mama Mr. & Mrs. E.E. Ely. Mrs. Ely was Francis Chambers, daughter of Francis Standley Chambers and William Chambers. The person I acquired it from said it was taken in Iowa.
This has to be probably taken in the late 1800s. Very nice portrait of a serious couple.
I'd like to find family for this photo. For details, contact me at: digginroots(a)yahoo.com
