Does anyone have information on Utenards? I haven't been able to find it. I have information that says Thomas McCutcheon was born near Belfast, but I haven't found "Utenards".
There is a Newtonards that still exists. Could "Utenards" have been misspelled or misunderstood when pronounced upon entry? Does Utenards = Newtonards? Any ideas?

Hi Joe,
I think your Chambers may somehow be related to mine, but I have been unable to find the connection.
Nancy Chambers Boyd petitioned the court of Newberry Co., SC for alimony in 1823 and 1824. Her "next friend" in the petition was Adam Chambers. Her spouse was John Boyd, and she had a daughter named Sarah Bell.
In the petition filed in 1823, Nancy claimed that she and John were married in 1790 and had children Margaret; Sarah; Elizabeth; Janet; James; Nancy; and Mary Boyd. She said they had been happily married for 4 or 5 years untill John began physically abusing her. Nancy left and was living with neighbors. The children lived at home with John Boyd. John admitted to abusing his wife but said she had accused him of "resorting at Mrs. Bell's house."
I have been told that Nancy had a brother named Mordecai but I have no proof of that.
The annual returns in 1828 on the estate of John Boyd Sr. show that John Boyd Jr. had the following children:
Margaret Boyd m. Wilson Spence
Sarah Boyd m. Thomas Bell
Jenetta Boyd m. Ira Corbin
James Boyd
Nancy Boyd
[Note that Elizabeth and Mary are not listed.]
As you may know, David Chalmers/Chambers of Newberry married Jane Boyd. He was the son of William and Grace Chalmers, and she was the daughter of David and Eleanor Boyd. Some of the early Newberry Chalmers/Chambers came from Ireland and Scotland as proven in records.
I descend from Adam Chambers of Newberry Co. He died there in 1801 and left 10 children. Interestingly, another Adam Chambers was a purchaser at his estate sale in Newberry. I believe this other Adam Chambers is the same one who was "next friend" for your Nancy Chambers Boyd. I have found him in the 1810 Laurens Co. census and the 1820 Newberry Co. census. He was born between 1776-1781 per census data, but I have been unable to learn more about him.
My direct Chambers ancestors moved from Newberry to Pickens Co., AL and then on to Noxubee Co., MS. They have some sort of connection to a Bell family in MS, but I don't know what it is other than friendship.
I hope this helps. If you know anything more about your Nancy Chambers, please let me know. I'd like to know how she is related to Adam Chambers and who their parents are.

I'm looking for any information on my favorite "brick wall" Nancy Chambers. She was born abt 1775 in Virginia. She married John "Wagoneer Boyd abt 1790. They resided in Newberry CO. SC and then moved separately to Meriwether or Pike CO GA. She actually did not move to GA until John was dead and gone. They had issues I guess. John and Nancy had a daughter Sarah brn 1795 ( ggggrandmother), who married a Thomas N. Bell (yet another brick wall).
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
