Hi Margaret,
I can't verify this family, but this looks promising by the dates. I do
much research in England as my ancestor Phillip Chambers, immigrated
from there to the Colonies.

I know of a Bartholomew Maloy b. 1828 who married Mar. 11/2/1855 Anne Mc Guire b. 1833 of Lambertville, NJ. I've been researching this to see if there would be a relation to my Maloy's of that same time period. I stongly believe there is a connection and maybe the reason my Maloy's ended up in Lambertville!

Hi Carla,
Thanks for your message. I have since learned that their sugar plantation was said to be very near the kingston race track, though I have been unable to find anything that proves that. I need to check back in with www. jamaicanfamilysearch.org to see if they have any new information. But let's definitely keep in touch if we find out more information.

I'm not sure that we are talking about the same James Chambers here. I have found two James Chambers one a Pvt in the 7th PA Continental Line and one a Capt who achieved the rank of Col in the Continental Army from PA. Don't know which is mine. My Cummings family lore states James Chambers (my GGGGGF) was Scotch Irish emigrated to America before the Revolution and "sacrificed a large fortune in assisting the colonies in the War of Independence." He was married first having a dau who married a KENNEDY and 2 sons. He then married Margaret BUCHANAN Caldwell who had a son Robert Caldwell. The children of Mr Chambers and Margaret Buchanan were Isabella (PILLARS), Catherine (CUMMINGS), Nancy (PILLARS) and Stephen. Does any of this info coincide with yours and your lines?

Have you looked at Earl Scott's info? He and I are very distant cousins through a Chambers relative in GA, and he has been very helpful. Even if we are not from the same chambers line, he may have some info that will help. He has posted census info for all the Chambers in GA for a census or two in the 1800s. Looking for info on siblings and parents. William was born in Georgia, lived in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. Father was William A. Chambers and mother was Sarah.
Hi
I am wondering if someone out there can help me. I am interested in a
CHAMBERS family from Weldon, Northampton in England. One of the
gravestones in the Congregational Churchyard commemorates 2 of the sons
of John and Mary CHAMBERS. One is John Thomas who passed away in
Kettering March 22nd 1888 aged 34 years and the other is Joseph Edward
who passed away in America January 12, 1886 aged 28 years. I have found
him in the 1881 census in England so a search of the 1880 US census
won't get me anywhere. Has anyone stumbled across Joseph Edward
CHAMBERS in their researches?
Thanks
