I wrote a reply and was trying to edit it and I'm not sure if it was sent. THANK YOU. Using the national census ,the only info I had was that Joseph W. came from NC and he worked both as a farmer and a miner. My husband is descended from Jesse N. and Georgia A. Jesse is my husband's great, great grandfather. Much of the info I got was from Mrs. Lutrell and Mrs. Moon in Rockmart GA in two letters. This was many years ago and they were old at that time.I will try to cross check my info with yours and let you know if I have any more info.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I am the 6th great-grandson of a James Chambers who died in North Carolina. I only know of 3 children, but they were all born in North Carolina in 1760s and 1770s. The children were Elihu, William, and Jospeh. I have all this posted on GenCircles:

Jared,
Hello there!! I do have Sanford's number, address and email info, we have been in contact several times over the last year or so, he is a great wealth of information and a very pleasant person to talk to on the phone. He is the one who helped me tie in Milton to my Chambers but we are still unsure exactly where the connection is between him and Jonathan. It is fun to keep plugging away at this. So somewhere down this Chambers line you and I are distantly related :).

I know that i misspelled Andy's name, I'll get to it. I went to Pleasant Grove Baptist last weekend. My grandfather was born within sight of the church. Sanford (we call him Dorel, his middle name) Chambers is my grandfather's cousin. He is also where I got most of my info, If you give me a day or two, I can get you his phone number.
Write me back if you're interested.

Jared,
I have been told by several people that Milton and Martha Catherine are related SOMEHOW but not sure where the link is :).... I think I have found that they were cousins. The problem I'm running into and if you have the answer I will love you forever........ Martha Catherine Chambers was raised by Jonathan Chambers and Elizabeth Moody Chambers Elizabeth was 53 when Catherine was 3 there is no way this woman is her mother... maybe one of her daughters had Catherine out of wedlock? A son who left her with his parents? no one seems to know and I won't get back up to Carroll county until later this year to find out. any help you can give me I would appreciate... are you going to the Chambers family reunion in Sept?

Hi: Have been looking for Chambers ancestors in 1700's in Lancaster and Chester Cos. for years. Would it be too much to ask for list of Chambers who are buried in White Clay Presbyterian Church cemetery? Do not think any of them were Quakers. My earliest known ancestor is David Chambers who was in Lancaster Co. at time of Revolutionary War. Have no idea of name of his parents. It is possible he was the first one in the country, but I always follow any lead in the area. Thanks. Jody Chambers Nestler

I am looking for information for Kansata or Canzabie or Cansabie, I have found her name to be written differently everytime I look. This is from a census about 1910, VA. But what I am really looking for is John and Sally Chambers. I'd love to know their parentage. I've been told my whole life that Kansata was a Cherokee. I asked some elders of the tribe about her name and they said it sounded like the Cherokee word for their people. I would appreciate any help. I'm worn out looking.

I wish I'd found this thread earlier! Milton Rice Chambers was my 3rd great-grandfather. I have a great deal of information on my family at the following link:
http://www.gencircles.com/users/bubba4444/1/data/419
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where a lot of Chambers are buried, is in Carroll County Georgia about 6.5 miles west of Roopville. It's in a little town called Tyus where my grandfather, Shelby Eley Chambers, grew up. His father was Troy Elander Chambers and his father was James Odus Chambers. James Odus was the son of Milton.
Please e-mail me for any additional info.
