I also found the following information. I hope this helps.
The Chambers Family of Harborcreek, Erie County, PA
The following was taken from a book called “Harborcreek’s Yesteryears” published in honor of the Harborcreek Township Bicentennial (1803-2003). For more information contact Harborcreek Historical Society 5240 Knowledge Parkway Erie, PA 16510 tel (814) 897-2685
The one room schoolhouse on Buffalo Road at Walbridge carries the name of this remarkable Harborcreek Township family. The Chambers family moved to this area in 1802. Ezekiel Chambers, Sr. and his wife Ruth were accompanied by their two sons who married sisters: Ezekiel, Jr was wedded to Rebecca Stewart and Benjamin had married Grace Stewart. When the families relocated here from Chambersburg, PA they purchased from the Pennsylvania Population Company four hundred acres along the Buffalo Road. East to West the acreage stretched from approximately present day Hannon Road west to Parker Avenue. Over the years the land was subdivided through sales and estate settlements; however a member of the Chamber’s Family continues to reside in one of the original homes until the early 1980’s. This modernized house is located on the north side of Buffalo Road across from today’s Value Home Center, which occupies the land where the Chambers’ barn stood!
.
The family was very involved in Harborcreek community life: political, spiritual, economic and agricultural. For close to fifty years, the second son of Ezekiel and Rebecca, served as Justice of the Peace in Erie, County. Governor Ritter had commissioned him in 1837. His office was in a family homestead on the north side of Buffalo Road at the intersection of Buffalo Road at the intersection of Saltsman Road. In addition James was a County treasurer, commissioner and auditor. Cassius M. Chambers was the grandson of Ezekiel, Sr. Cassius was locally recognized as the leader of the Republican Party in the late 1800’s. In Harborcreek he served as school board director and tax collector for twelve years. Spiritually the Chambers Family was part of the Methodist Church. Many members served in various capacities; Ezekiel, Jr. was licensed to preach by the Methodist Episcopal Church in the 1830’s. Economically, Benjamin Funston Chambers, was Vice President !
of the Bank of Wesleyville, which remains today at the corner of Buffalo and Wesley Avenue. Agriculturally, the majority of all the Chambers Family members were involved in growing of vegetables and fruits including grapes. A present day member, Dr. Barbara Chambers (great-great-great, great granddaughter of Ezekiel Sr.), has childhood memories from the early 1940’s of selling melons in from of the homestead on Buffalo Road. These melons where grown by her grandfather, Benjamin Funston Chambers.
These are a few of the achievements of this piorneer family, which is characterized as “a family of great energy, genial disposition and strict integrity.” Their history and accomplishments are well documented in the annuals of Erie County.
List of Chamber Family members who continued to live on a portion of the original 400 acres in Harborcreek. 1802 – 1981: Information provided by Barbara Chambers.

Thank you for sending this will. Is there anyone out there who is a descendant of Grace A. Riblet? I would like to correspond with you. Her father was Samuel Chambers, a brother to my gg grandfather James. M. Chambers
Do you know whether the Chambers in Missouri are related to the Chambers in
Ohio? Cyrus Chambers (b about 1800) is my gg grandfather and had many sons,
only a few of which remained in Ohio. If any of this sounds familiar, please let
me know.

I am looking for the parents and siblings of Catherine(CHAMBERS) WYLIE / WILEY / WYLLEY. She married John WYLLEY / WILEY / WYLIE, Sr. on October 3, 1738 at the First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. Four of their children have recorded baptisms in that same church between the years of 1739 to 1744 (John Jr., Peter, Alexander and Mary). John Sr. died in Montgomery County, VA in 1792. There is a business and personal connection between this family and one William DAVIS of Philadelphia. William sold John Sr. 400 acres of land in Augusta County, VA in 1765 (William listed as a resident of Philadelphia in the land transaction). I descend from Catharine and John's son, Alexander (b. 1742). Interesting to find a "Chambers-Wylie Memorial Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia; was wondering if there is a connection between that congregation and my family.

Seeking info on my ancestors/descendants of my great grandfather, James CHAMBERS. I have his marriage cert to my gg/mother, Isabella Duncan, 22 March 1875 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was 24 yrs old, hence born circa 1851. Address on marriage cert was 1095 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh. James' father is shown on the cert as John Chambers, Oil Cake Maker and mother Mary Chambers (nee Robinson).
I have his parents' marriage cert: 23 Dec 1848 in parish of Holy Trinity, Hull, county of Said Town - John Chambers, occupation Seed Crumbler of Finkle Court to Mary Robinson of Myton Gate; John's father shown as David Chambers, Mariner; Mary's father as Alexander Robinson, Labourer.
James CHAMBERS and Isabella moved to #8 Silver St., Rotherhithe (Bermondsey), S.E. London and are shown on the 1901 census to have had 7 children living with them: Christina, Alfred, Emma, Harry, Isabella, George and Frank. The 2 oldest sons, James and Joseph had obviously left home by that time. I was told by family that sons Jim and Joe lived at one point in the Surrey Docks area in London and that they both became City of London policemen. My grandmother was Emma Chambers (their 5th child).
In 1881 the family was shown as living at 1 Ebenezer Place Sculcoates, York. I also have the marriage cert of Isabella's parents: Thomas Duncan and Ann Herris, 4 Feb 1850, living at 4 West Richmond St., parish of St. Cuthberts, Midlothian.
Any assistance to expand knowledge on my CHAMBERS clan will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Margaret

I am trying to trace descendants of Janet (also known as Jenny) CHAMBERS. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland on 12th July 1905 and had a twin sister Agnes (also known as Nancy, my great-grandmother). I belive that she married an Alexander BRODIE and emigrated to Canada in the 1960's.
Any info would be great :-)

I have a David Chambers, born about 1788, so that seems to late. He lived in Conestoga. His father is possibly John Chambers who lived in Lancaster. John had a son named David born in 1788. John was married to a Catharine. The baptism of this David in 1788 is in the records of St. James Epsicopal Church in Lancaster.
Whang seems to mean shoe laces, which were unusal for the time. I also saw an early 1800s reference to a military shoe similar to a brogan, that was called a whang. Thus, maybe, the shoes were military boots with leather laces, not the usual shoes with latches.

Thanks to a very helpful person on the PALANCAS maillist -- by the name of Debbie -- I have the following information. Let me preface this with saying that I have been searching for my GGGGF David Chambers in and around Lancaster Co, PA for years. I have never been able to connect him with any Chambers family. Now I have this piece of information and know not how to proceed:
November 11, 1772
The Pennsylvania Gazette
FORTY SHILLINGS Reward.
RUN AWAY from the subscriber, living in Little Britain township, Lancaster county, an Irish servant man named DAVID CHAMBERS, about 5 feet 6 inches high, with red hair, cut short, and is much freckled, speaks thick and broad, is about 18 years of age; had on, and took with him, a dark coloured coat, and short lappelled jacket, both bound with tape, with hair buttons, without lining, a pair of leather breeches, two pair of stockings, one of light blue worsted, the other of coarse yarn, a pair of new shoes, made for whangs, two shirts, one of linen, the other of tow cloth, and twrowsers of the same, a little felt hat, bound with tape. Whoever takes up said servant, and secures him in any of his Majesty's goals, so that his master may have him again, shall receive the above reward, and reasonable charges, paid by CHARLES HARAH.
November 1, 1772
I am pursuing obtaining full access to The Pennsylvania Gazette, not only in hopes of finding further information about David, but because I have three other family lines in Lancaster Co. at that time.
Through all my searches, I have searched land, tax, court and church records for any pertinent Chambers connection. This is the first I have heard of this young man. Does this possibly connect with any one out there in any of your families? Also, does anyone know what 'whangs' is?
Any ideas gratefully received!!
Jody
