I am looking for the parents of a Ellen Chambers b. 1872 in South Carolina who married Robert R. Spoon . Both were born in Oconee County S.C.
I found an Ellen Chambers b. 1872 whose parents were Patrick and Matilda (nee Gilliam) Chambers. What I want to know if these two Ellens are one in the same.
I am researching both the Chambers Family and the Spoon Family. My g.grandfather was William Henry Chaambes and Robert's parents (Octavia Pitman Spoon and Alfred S. Spoon were his parents.
Ruby Pitman Joynes
I also have Chambers and Hamilton links in that area, specifically, Ohio, and
most of the other states of the United States and Confederacy, at the time of
the Civil War. Though mostly unproven and largely undocumented, my links date
mostly from the late eighteenth century forward. Since I am currently, as the
personal representative of the person and estate of Baby Ruth (nee Pitts)
Waterfield and in the process of winding down everything, including funearal
arrangements, my time is very limited; however, at the same time, I invite
communication from all, as it is very helpful to the many close friends and
relatives, many of whom have an interest in genealogy. If my replies are rather slow,
please be assured that I will reply ASAP. dwatkinsman(a)aol.com

Thanks for the information... I hadn't quite thought of it like that. Just for the record, in this case it happens to be that Thomas actually did have a son named for him.

George and family left Indiana and moved to Michigan by 1880
George and Frank left Michigan and moved to Wahington in 1885

I don’t know what ever happened to the rest of the family,
Whether they staid in NY or moved to Indiana or not.
Al meda Lash was still in Indiana in 1930
