My 'brick wall' is William Richard Chambers and his wife Biddy Ann. Family tradition states that he was from TN and his name is Richard. The 1850 Texas Co., MO census reflects that his name was William and was born in VA about 1820. The 1850 census reflects that Biddy's name is Bida and she was born in KY about 1824. I have also found Biddy's name reflected as Beda and Media. I have not been able to identify Biddy's maiden name or the county of her birth. Their children were: Payton, Sarah, Elizabeth and William. This family last lived in Laclede Co., MO - they moved their shortly after the 1850 census was taken. Please let me know if know of this Chambers family. More information about this family can be found at:
http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~crrking/Chambers/cham_gen.htm
This site also has information that is helpful to all Chambers researchers such as: Chambers Cemetery lists and links, links to other Chambers sites, and information about the orgin of the Chambers surname.
Also I have been hoping to find more men with the last name of Chambers to join the Chambers Y-DNA project. My Mills and Barnes family lines are participating in a DNA study and it has been quite helping in narrowing my research and finding related family lines. If more Chambers men join the Chambers Y-DNA study, it would help all researchers on this list narrow down their research.
Information about the Chambers Y-DNA Project can be found on this page:

Would like to contact anyone with ties to the Chambers who were part of the Newport Township settlement in Nova Scotia in the 1760's. John Chambers from Newport, RI, was part of this group of settlers.
I have traced my Chambers line from my grandmother: Alvina Chambers Broderick>Alexander Scott Chambers>James Chambers>Robert Chambers. Robert Chambers is said to be a grandson of the original settler, John Chambers but I cannot prove it yet. Robert Chambers was married to Catherine Miller/Millar. Need some help here.

In the time since I had posted this, I found Williams' family.
His father was Elisha Winn, mother Evaline Reynolds
brothers Robert, Elisha and Dorsey. I have Elishas' fsmily to his GGF. I would like to know what became of the brothers-
Elisha was last on the 1880 cen
Dorsey made the 1930 cen in Adair, Ok.
There is a connection with McDonald Co., Mo- Elisha was born there, William married there by Mathew Spires, who may have been an uncle as he married Mary Chambers in Ga.

Could you tell me where in MO the might have been from? Do you know if he had any brothers or sisters?
Just a quick note to remind all of you (experienced and newbies) that
there is a definite naming pattern for families in the early years.
When you are having trouble making connections with your direct
ancestor, try looking for a sibling of the parent with that name. I did
and I now have the line back to about 1550.
