Thanks for spending so much time researching Chambers' for me. Are these WPA records as well? I found some records at the D.A.R. Library here in Washington, DC, but this is much more than I've ever been able to locate.

Hi Michelle,
I have no idea if my Chambers-Davidson connect to yours, but as I said previously I don't know much about their early lives or their parents.
I'll look through my Mecklenburg books, etc. for any info on your Chambers, Davidson family.
What you said about the spelling of the surname is interesting. In some of the earlier records for my line, the name was spelled Davison, then Davidson. This was mid-1800s.
I descend from Maxfield Chambers (b. 1800) of Newberry Co., SC to Pickens Co., AL to Noxubee Co., MS. One of his sisters apparently married James Davison/Davidson, born ca. 1799 in SC or NC. James had a son named William Patton Davidson born in Pickens Co., AL ca 1830 and died in Noxubee Co., MS. We don't know where the "Patton" name came from.
James also had a son Joseph Alexander and three daughters - Martha Stuart Davidson Woodfin, Rosannah Davidson Bird, and Rebecca Davidson Chambers (she also married into my Chambers).
My Maxfield Chamber's wife, Mary Gillespie, was of the Gillespies in Mecklenburg, NC. Many Davidsons in that area, so I had wondered if James Davidson descended from those folks. But that's just a guess!
I'll check around and see if I can find anything for you. If you have anything that might connect to my Chambers-Davidsons, please let me know.

Davidson/Davison's came from County Armagh, Ireland to Pennsylvania moving into Virginia, around 1738, they stayed in Va for about 10 years before moving on to NC, Rowan/Iredell County. Settling at Davison Creek. It was a short time after this move that they adopted the 2nd D back into the name. Changing their names as well as the properties around them from Davison to Davidson. The Davidson Line is my Major line and I have tons of info. I'd like to get more info on the Chambers. The only thing I know for certain is that Sarah Catherine Davidson married William Cathey Chambers in the 1830's having one daughter that I know of(probably more) Margaret Agnes Chambers who married Andrew Jackson Kellar and they had 4 children.

I am searching for information about William T. Chambers, b. about 1836 in Indiana. According to the census, William's parents were born in Maryland. William was married to Sarah Bradburn in 1858 in Indiana. Their son, Walter Chambers, was married to Catherine May Bradburn. Walter and Catherine's son, Allen Raymond Chambers, b. Aug. 1888 in Indiana, was married to Marge. Allen Raymond Chambers and Marge's son, Walter Eugene Chambers was born in 1908 in Columbia, Tennessee and married Isabell Holland from Indiana. Walter Eugene Chambers and Isabell Holland's son, Raymond Eugene Chambers, was born and raised in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana, 1932-2003. Raymond Eugene Chambers was my father-in-law.
Any information about William T. Chambers and Sarah Bradburn, and allied families or any information about the Muncie, Delaware County Chambers families would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Thanks so much for the info. I'll look at the site you gave for any possible links to my lines.
I'll keep an eye out for your folks. I've done some research in the Mecklenburg/Iredell/Rowan counties area of NC and know there were Pattons, Chambers, and Davidsons (many) there.
