A Raleigh Paper in 1818 notes that Eliz Chambers has died. It states that she had 15 children (others note fewer children, does anyone had the full 15???). It states that in 1818 she is 88 years of age (does anyone have the exact date?). She was married 51 years and had been widowed for 17 years. She was 20 at her marriage and is buried on the plantation where she lived 67 years. (i had thought that they were in Halifax Co Va for the first part of the children and person Co for the youngest. Is this wrong?) Thanks for the help. Meredith Adams Sheridan of Fanny Chambers (daughter of John Chambers and grandaughter of William and Elizabeth)

I have two chambers boys around that time but they were James or Jack & John Henry (baby). I was hoping that there was a link. I am going to save your info & hope that we can find a match, but as of now, I don't think there is.
Thanks,

Since A. J. and Ruthy were only 29 and 24 at 1870 census, James (age 13) must have been a brother.
I have a ggrandfather named James Chambers. 1880 census list my ggrandfather as 24 and born in Georgia. James from 1870 was also born in Georgia.

Do you or anyone know of a Jessica Chambers that lives/lived in Indiana? She went to Clinton Young Elementary School in Perry Township, of Marion County, Indianapolis. She's probably around the age of 19-20. She was kind of quiet back then. If you have any information i would appreciate it. Thanks, Chad

Do you by any chance have a D.V. Chambers or a J.W. Chambers in your line? They lived in the Essex County New York area in about 1859-1862. JW Chambers was a woman whose maiden name was JW Norton. She married D.V. Chambers in about 1862. They seem to have kept the Crown Point Lighthouse for some period.

My great grandfather was Seth Chambers, married to Lily Chambers of Mason, Tennessee. They later lived in Memphis for quite a long time, and then moved back to Covington, Tennessee. Both died in their 90's in the 1970's.
