Thanks for the info. Jasper Maple's pension file also includes an affidavit from a John Chambers, who states that he attended Lydia's funeral. John was 78 when the affidavit was made on 5 March 1900 in Saint Omar, IN. Does he, by any chance, correspond to anyone in your records? Thanks again.

Bruce,
William did not have a daughter named Lydia, but she may have been a grandchild. We only have descendants for 2 of his children. There was a number of Chambers in the area and not all were related.

Dear Herman, I am of John P. Chambers and his daughter Fanny Chambers Adams who married her husband George Adams in Person Co, NC (next to the Va/NC) line. Her father leaves his will in Robertson Co in 1843 where he says "my deceased wife" and "deceased daughter Fanny" and mentions George Adams by name. The marriage bond for the Adams is in the NC archives. They seem to have moved to Tn in the 1816/1819 time period. (The first child EmilyAlbinia is bn in Va. The first son of the Adams is William G. (my direct line)bn in Tn in 1819. Can you give me information on the William Chambers who married Elizabeth Patton (in your line) and tell me if the William who is their son is the William who fathered my John P. Chambers? Many thanks Meredith Adams Sheridan of dsheridan1(a)ec.rr.com

Dear John, Can you tell me the name of John P. Chamber's wife? I am of his daughter, Fanny Chambers who married George Adams in Person Co, 1814. (Bond NC archives.) Some have suggested that Mrs John's wife might be Rebecca Graham. Do you also know what the "P" stand's for in John P.'s name? Many thanks, Meredith Adams Sheridan of dsheridan1(a)ec.rr.com PS In the 1843 will of Robertson Co, TN, John calls both Mrs Chambers and my Fanny Chambers Adams deceased. Do you know where and when either died? Thank you Meredith

Lilly, I have just found your message. Fanny and George were married in Person Co., NC in 1814 (bond NC archives). I have not found where John is living but there are Chambers nearby as well as Barnetts, Stanfields and others who are involved with the Chambers family. I know that there are Adams near by in Caswell, and Person(( as well as Halifax, Va))(both next to Halifax, Na on the NC side.Thank you for the information. George and Fanny Adams first two daughters were, Emily Albinia and Rebecca. I had wondered if one of these names might be the name of Mrs John Chambers whose husband John left his will in Robertson Co in 1843. Where did you get the information on the house burning @ the time of John's death and that the family might have previously lived in Carroll Co? Thanks Meredith Adams Sheridan

Do you know the names of William's children? I am interested in a Lydia Chambers who married an Irvin Warren in Decatur Co IN in 1849; Irvin died soon after. This may be the same Lydia Warren who married my great-great-great grandfather Jasper Maple in 1853 in Decatur Co. If so, she would have been born in OH about 1830, and died in New Point, Decatur Co, IN in 1875. Do you have any information that might be helpful?

This fall I bought a piece of furniture at an auction. On the bottom of the drawer, it says:
Made by John W. Chambers, age 84 years & ____, December 1921.
Given as New Year's Gift to Lenore & Earl Dexheimer.
I'm trying to identify WHO Mr. Chambers and the Dexheimers were and WHERE they lived. Any information would be most appreciated. I'd also like to find out WHEN Mr. Chambers died so I can find an obit. on him. THANKS!

Jeff,
The only info that I have on son, Samuel is that he was born about 1839 in NY and was a surgeon in the Civil War . But his last name was Kingston. The Samuel Chambers that I have was from Ireland and would have been born about 1800 or earlier. Don't know anything beyond that, except all of these relations who married each other & lived in Brasher seem to have been from Clonakilty area in Cork. Daughter of Samuel Chambers, my Ursula & her husb, Thomas Kingston are buried in Fairview Cem. in Brasher, NY. Hope I haven't confused you too much. Sharon Irish

Can anyone help me with this CHAMBERS family?
