William Joseph (Joe) Chambers, son of James Chambers moved to Texas in the mid
1800's. He came back and married a Mary Stiles and went back to Texas. Does
anyone have a Wm. J. Chambers that fits this description? Where in Texas did
he settle? Any info welcomed.
Randy
I noticed all the confusion, as though there wasn't enough with the Chambers'
naming every son James, William, Moses, etc., that there were some William
Chambers that came into Charleston in the 1700's from England. Has anyone
traced these William's families? They show up on the first fleet, the
catholic records and some business records. I don't believe I have a
connection here. Just curious.
I did notice that (a) Moses Chambers divorced his wife Droha (can't even read
my own writing) in Monroe Co. TN in 1836.

Mariah Chambers (b Jun 28 1835 in TN / d Dec 10 1904 in MO) She married a
Francis Marion Caffey (b Jun 13 1827 / d 1867) on May 1 1851 either in MO or
AR.
Lucinda Jane Caffey (my line) (b Nov 1852 / d Feb 11 1892) married Samual
Kelly Moore. I have a lot on this line.
Daniel Nuton Caffey (b 1855 / d 1860)
Robert F Caffey (b May 24 1857 / d ?)
Preston S Caffey (b Mar 11 1860 / d 1937)
Francis Marion Caffey (b Sep 20 1862 / d 1944)
After Francis died, Mariah married John Kissee. They had 2 children: Marie
and Margaret (Maggie) I know that Mariah was of Cherokee descent. They

Here's what I have on my William Chambers that went to
Tennessee from NC through a land grant.
I think I need to dig into war records a little deeper.
I see that the problem with everyone lies with William and which
David was his father as I've found alot of Williams (as I'm sure
evryone has also) in Va. during the same time period with father's
named David.
I know this is alot to ask, but if everyone posted the David's that
they have with son's named William and siblings. Where they lived
in Va. and where they were born and any extra info, maybe we
could link these families up properly. =)
Just my thought. =)
In his early 20's he volunteered for service in the Revolutionary
Army in April 1777 and was in Captain John Morton's Company of
the 4th Virginia Regiment. he was wounded in action October 1777
and finally discarged 2/6/1778 with the rank of Sergeant.. He had
enlisted for 2 years and received basic pay of $8.00 per month. His
Commanding Officer was Thomas Elliott. His name is on the
plaque in the Scott County Courthouse yard along with other
soldiers of the Revolutionary War names. There were 78 Chambers
in the Revolutionary War. Army records show that he was wounded
in service the year his son Thomas was born, 1777. Submitted by

Hi. I am new to this digest, and I want to thank all of you for the
information and help you have given me this last week or so. I am trying to
link up the Chambers line to the Sarah Boone line (Daniels Boone's aunt) and
her father George Boone back to England. There is an abundance of info on the
Boones. I need help linking Rachel Stover m. William Chambers. This Rachel
is dtr of Jeremiah Stover (wife unknown). Jeremiah Stover's parents unknown,
but his grandpartents on the Stover side were Sarah Boone (dtr to Geoge Boone
III and aunt to Daniel Boone) and Jacob Stover.
Here is some info on the Jacob Stover line. Can anyone fill in the blanks?
Thanks Cathy Anne

On Robert Chambers decendants......
I think we all need to work together on this one.
Are we talking about 2 separate families here?
I really want to get this straighted out folks, because I'm getting
sick of the nasty emails that someone is sending me. =(
Just to REMIND anyone that has ever received a chambers
gedcom from me, that #1 my data comes from a conglomeration of
gedcoms that people have sent me that I just happen to be able to
link together along with the sender, #2 I do not verify the data that
is sent me, #3 I have not and never will take credit for all of the
Chambers info that I have.
Thank you,
Brenda

Hi:
Can anyone help with a small mystery?
This lady, Rachel Stover, is reported to have been born in 1781
according to several different records from many sources.
She was a granddaughter of Boone's, Was a Stover, Was a Chambers, Was a
Morrow. Surely someone must have the answer.
Her first husband, according to records, was 11 years older than she
was but, her oldest son William Jr. was born in 1790. Was she only 9
years old when she gave birth.
This has been mentioned to me several times but I haven't dug the
answer out.
Thanks,
Ron Riley
