Seeking info on a JAMES CHAMBERS of White (Habersham) Co. Ga. I believe he is
the father of my ggf JAMES C. CHAMBERS who was born in 1838, joined the GA
55INF Co. B in Greene Co. Ga., was captured at Cumberland Gap in 1862 and
spend the rest of the war at Camp Douglas as a POW. His first wife was SARAH
BUSBY. She must have died in the 1870's (Possibly in White or Hart Co.) His
second wife was ELIZABETH HANNAH (b in TN). JAMES C. died in Elbert Co. in
1911 and CSA pension records showed that ELIZABETH was in Clarke Co. (Athens)
after that and probably died there. Elizabeth is my GGM. My gf was NOAH
CHARLAY CHAMBERS
