Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, Brian. I grew up in the Armada area. I live in
Sterling Heights currently. I have recently thought the land that my family farmed for
over 100 years may have been originally owned by Melinda or Beekman Chamberlin. Now, I
think they may have owned land adjoining this plot. I did take the Ancestry DNA test,
hoping to find my Chamberlin Heritage past Beekman and Malancton. I have been told now
that test is not going to help much towards that goal. I have found cousins thru that
test, but no one from the Chamberlin Line. We still need to find a Male Descendant from
the Chamberlin Paternal side to at least start a Chamberlin Line for DNA matching. Ms.
Gorelick created a Find A Grave memorial listing Joseph and Phebe Chamberlin as
Malancton's parents. James Parker on this forum believes that is problematic because
of Malancton's brother, Beekman's birthdate before their marriage. So the search
goes on... Thanks for the info a!
bout April 1834 as their arrival to Michigan. To add to that, James Parker and his wife
Ruth Adams(sister to Melinda and Mary) also travelled with this group.
