If you would provide identifying information for your great grandmother's grandfather,
William Chamberlin, then I can probably identify him and his proven lineage in my
Chamberlain/lin/land research records here. But it is highly unlikely that it has been
traced back to the Tankervilles as you stated. To briefly update my very long and
detailed message in 2004 that you read and printed out here, the website for the World
Chamberlain Genealogical Society is now:
http://www.chamberlain-society.org/. Mr. Welton
Chamberlain, first President of the society in 1996, whose book on the Tankervilles I
mentioned, passed away at his home in Pinckney, Michigan, a few days ago, on 21 March 2008
- we shall all miss him a great deal. Genealogical research in Parish and other ancient
records in England continues. DNA research of Chamberlain descendants from many unrelated
branches with this surname (all spellings) continues as well, but the conclusions remain
the same as I outlined in !
my posting. Philip J. Chamberlain continues to lead these two projects. If you wish to
discuss this information in greater detail, contact me via Email at this address:
