After careful checking and rechecking the lines I realize that a geneologist got the Pecks
mixed up do to some data online. She erroneously thought Sarah was Pearls mom due to other
family data that was in error. Pearl's mother was Maggie McKay born 1849-1850 in NY.
This makes sense as Pearl's middle name was McKay. It is still the Peck line descended
from Deacon Paul Peck but a different son and line. However the data above about Sarah in
the Newspaper is for posterity and there for the family that she is the ancestor to. Also
there is an error on Levi, the Deacon Paul Peck line is for a Levi H Peck, Sarah is
married to a Levi B not a Levi H B or similar ...there is no transcription error, it is
Levi H as opposed to a different Levi B may or may not be somewhere on the Deacon's
descendant line, haven't found it but it is not Levi H who goes into the doolittles
and the Tuttles. Hopefully this post will straighten out the line errors and issues for
this subject at least. The !
Peck Book can be confusing so it is best to double check and recheck the lines.
