Please check the following website for an image of a formally prepared Family Group Sheet
for this family (for John Chamberlin (1687-1739) [LN#0024], prepared by the late, great,
Chamberlain/lin genealogist, David Conrad Chamberlin, Sr. It is located within the
website for the World Chamberlain Genealogical Society, of which I was one of the
co-founders in 1996, and I am familiar with these records. This FGR lists DDC's
original sources, which you may wish to access - I'm not familiar myself, with the
original records.

You can also find in this site many other FGRs including ancestors and descendants in this
family. I maintain these same records here, too, and a large database in Family Tree
Maker for this entire family as well. Here are my very brief research notes for this John
Chamberlin:
NOTES

N.J. for marriage, children. Deathdate also shown as Sept. 1, 1739. CA News has his
birthdate ca. 1679.

The following information from David C. Chamberlin, Sr.'s lineages: On April 1,
1709, John Chamberlin, calling himself a "singleman, son and heir of Henry
Chamberlin, late of Shrewsbury, deceased," sold 50 acres which he stated: "The
same land was conveyed to me in the right of my father Henry, by patent bearing the date 1
May 1697. This land was a meadow in Freehold." This 50 acres was part of the
Passaquenecqua lands that had been jointly purchased by his father and his uncle William
Chamberlin. From 1733 to 1737 he paid interest on a mortgage on the remaining portion of
his land, which was bounded east by the sea and west by Henry CHAMBERLAIN, his cousin and
son of his Uncle William.
John was a member of the Grand Jury 1711-1720 & 1735; Constable 1716; Surveyor of
Highways 1729. On 14 Sep 1714 he was mortgager to John Browne, Merchant. On 28 May
1717, his nephew Henry, petitioned the court to appoint him as his guardian, and on 8 Jul
1717, letters of guardianship were issued to him.END OF NOTES
