I found the David Chamberlin/lain surrogate/rev war applications that I sent for from the
Ontario, NY Genealogical Society. From 1800, 1810, and 1820 Census records for a David
Chamberlin from that area only the 1810 Census matches up for Sons, Malancton and Beekman,
but the 1800 Census is missing the Senior David from the count and by 1820, Malancton and
Beekman are heads of their own family. The 1800 Census info may have been entered in
error for David Chamberlain, so I could not confirm him as their father. The info from
the Surrogate and War applications only states that the Senior David died in 1821 and
mentions his wife Chloe and a son David. David was named as Administrator of his
father's belongings. His mother, Chloe was still alive so there was no probate to the
other siblings. I must assume that David was taking care of his mother. In the Rev. War
Application, it mentions that David, Sr. received a Certificate Number, so that means that
there is another a!
pplication. I am going to contact the Ontario County, NY Genealogical Society to see if
that is in their records.
